Bliss
One question that has always intrigued me, is: where was the bliss photograph taken? You know, the standard Microsoft Windows Desktop image?
Answer, which is actually quite obvious: Napa Valley. Or more or less so.
"The `Bliss' image was actually taken outside Napa, Calif.," said Microsoft's Brian Peterson. "It was chosen because it illustrates the experiences Microsoft strives to provide customers (freedom, possibility, calmness, warmth, etc.)."

Screen Capturing
For a current project we've been looking at screen capturing solutions. So here's the most interesting candidates:
BB FlashBack
Camtasia
All Capture
Featurewise the Camtasia solution looks best. We'll most probably go for that one.

Geotagging
Finally, there's progress on the hardware front:
Sony bringt Geotagging für Videoaufnahmen
I have been looking for a solution to automate the allocation of geo information to my something like 5000 pictures of places for quite a while now. Unfortunately this will only solve my future problems. But that at least.

Knol? LOL!
Tags: Google (1)
I'm glad to see that not even Google manages to invent decent product names (I think the prize for the worst web 2.0 name goes to schmap.com, but that's a different story). Anyway, we have Wikipedia. Why would we want to look at "knols" which in addition will be infested with ads.
Is Google\'s gamble Wikipedia\'s nightmare?
